about

This is a song about how the spirit of life gently touches you while you are grieving. The song features the melancholy sound of The Sumburgh Head Foghorn in Scotland calling across the ocean by kind permission of JJ Jamieson because it reminds me of recording the ambience of waves off Findhorn by placing binaural microphones in my daughter Cloudia's ears and positioning her while I listened on headphones and compared my recorded sound to the sound of the sea. I've used this sound to create an eerie ambience on some of my mixes. This track is the first version I'm happy enough with the singing that I can release it. Tuning the vocal sounded too weird and it's taken me several months and countless attempts to get this far. In my head it's a reasonable enough attempt so if you are listening for the mistakes don't tell me. It's the emotion and the message I really want to get across. It started off as a kind of punk bounce future dance track or whatever dub step is called now? Individual genres in music are as idiotic as humans claiming to be individual and separate from one another. If you get it, share it. Spread the love, tell the truth always, even when it hurts!

lyrics

Love is an ocean
Feel it inside
Heard on the wind
Seen on the tide
Love is an ocean
Feel it inside
It speaks a thousand words
Looking into someone's eyes
Love is an ocean
Feel it inside

Soul teachers feel
We can be as one
Fair to say
Applies to everyone
Yet learned men
In shadows of their minds
Can be those
They try to liberate

And I feel
We can talk to one another
About how we want to see change

The conscious felt
As spiritual ones
They had to call
Who got eighty sixed
No sooner seen the light
Who can understand?
Ain't nothing much to fix
If we can find love

Love is an ocean
Feel it inside
Heard on the wind
Seen on the tide
Love is an ocean
Feel it inside
It speaks a thousand words
Looking into someone's eyes

Who'd like to understand
Who'd like it explained
How it is we hurt
Hunger pain or shame
Ain't it just a balance
With glory wars of fame
Until we find love
Perhaps we're not to blame

And I feel
We can talk to one another
About how we want to see change

Love is an ocean
Feel it inside
Heard on the wind
Seen on the tide
Love is an ocean
Feel it inside
It speaks a thousand words
Looking into someone's eyes
Love is an ocean
Feel it inside
